你可能认为it指代maintaining，那么maintaining 在这里到底算动词，还是名词呢？如果是名词，显然maintain有自己的名词maintenance。

为什么B说得通呢?请你从语法的角度解释一下.另外MAINTENANCE OF SOMETHING,

这里MAINTAINING SOMETHING是动名词哩.

B没有问题：1.cost money to do sth; 2.do指代'cost money to do sth'

E中it只能指代名词(动词没有专属的名词除外)。
