题目:The best way to teach is to praise positive actions and ignorenegative ones 提纲: No 1. Ignore the negativeactions is a kind of silentapproval e.g. 2. Interfere others’rights. 3. Ignore willconfuse the student with the attitude towards bad behavior and made themindifferent between the and lack thesense of justice. e.g. the robbery on the street and thecheating on the exam 字数:630 用时:一下午 The discussion ofwhether it is the best way to teach the students by praising the positiveactions and ignoring the negative ones has always been an important andelementary issue in terms of teaching method. Surely getting positivereflections when behaving good will definitely motivate the good behavior. The famous experiment “Skinner Box” revealsthe relation between the reward and punishment with the behaviorism. It seeksto understand behavior as a function of environmental stimulus and prove that thepositive actions can be enhanced by rewards and the negative actions can bediminished by punishments. In the view of the fact that the students may have confusionin understanding and learning the human behavior, the ignorance of the negativeactions may exert a bad influence on the students’ behaviorism. Taking the importanceof the teaching the students’ behavior into account, I would suggest that thebest way to teach is to praise positive actions and meanwhile discouragenegative ones. Ignore the negativeactions is a silent approval to some degree, in this situation, students canbehave badly without caring the punishments; what’s more, the students may getthe signal to behave worse in that the ignorance has fostered the negativeactions. Long after this, the students will end up being caught by offendingthe law. Looking back at this teaching method, the ignorance towards negativeactions contradicts with the commonplace sense of value and the attitude oflaw. For example, the kids grown up in the sense of bad behavior will not getpunished will continue to think like this and even do things that are againstthe law. Therefore, students would behave worse when they received the messagethat negative actions will not get punished and this teaching method cannot beadopted. In terms of thenegative actions itself, it may involve more than one students and may eveninterfere other students. The teachers should maintain the peace in the classand guarantee the students study. However, by ignoring the negative actions thestudents will affect others and the class will be interrupted. Likely, otherstudents will mimic the bad behavior if no actions were taken to prevent fromnegative actions. For instance, one philological experiment focusing on thesocial behaviors found out that the one who usually disturb others has moretendency towards egoism, in this way, the ignorance of negative behaviorpossibly leads to the development of selfishness. Therefore, neglecting of therights of others is an offence in this gregarious society and the education ofproper behavior must be taken early in school. Last but not the least, since the students in their age do not have a clear cognition of properbehavior. The teacher’s attitude towards negative actions set up an example totheir students, and students in this environment may develop an attitude ofindifference, no matter towards themselves or others. For example, thosestudents will do nothing when they saw a robbery happen on street, or they maydevelop a bad habit of cheating on the exam. Furthermore, these kids may end upas a lawbreaker since their ignorance to negative behavior or being sued bydisturbing others. Good teacher must expel the confusion of the proper behaviorof their students and help them build the clear cognition; therefore, the bestway to teach is not by praise the positive actions and ignore the negativeones. With all thisevidences, it is clear that the teaching should not base on the ignorancetowards negative actions. Certainly, to praise over the positive actions willenhance the good behavior; however the proper attitude towards negativebehaviors must be taken to prevent the student from developing the wrongcognition. Therefore, the best way to teach should involve proper treatmentboth to positive and negative actions. |
