关于双重所有格

在GMAT中，不允许的是双重所有格，而不是of 和’s同时出现，其实GMAT里面有好几个题目是of和's同时出现的，比如下题：

By merging its two publishing divisions, the company will increase their share of the country's $21 billion book market from 6 percent to 10 percent, a market ranging from obscure textbooks to mass-market paperbacks.
A. their share of the country's $21 billion book market from 6 percent to 10 percent, a market ranging
B. from 6 percent to 10 percent its share of the $21 billion book market in the country, which ranges
C. to 10 percent from 6 percent in their share of the $21 billion book market in the country, a market ranging
D. in its share, from 6 percent to 10 percent, of the $21 billion book market in the country, which ranges
E. to 10 percent from 6 percent its share of the country's $21 billion book market, which ranges

关于double possessive，我们可以倒回来看：
举两个双重所有格的例子：Instead of “a friend of my uncle’s” or “a car of Squiggly's,”
所谓的“倒回来看”：如果my uncle's friend如果说得通，那么就不需要双重所有格，因为用双重所有格是一种累赘。
that is: we should always say, “my uncle’s friend” or “Squiggly’s car.”
也就是说，去掉's意思不变的，就是双重所有格，再进一步讲即of 跟's其实修饰的是同一个词、表达的是一个意思。

对于上面的例子，是book market的share，而不是country的share，of和's并不是修饰同一个词，所以就不是双重所有格，故E正确。

今日又看了这帖子，有些感悟分享一下：
its share of the country's $21 billion book market，因为the country's 后面接了$21 billion book market
$21 billion book market由the country's 修饰
整个of the country's $21 billion book market用来修饰its share
所以这里 its share of the country's $21 billion book market不是双重所有格

然而若仅仅出现 its share of the country's 时，由于也可以写成the country's share，所以累赘。

不知对否？

简单地说，就是 A of B's 错，因为of与's同时修饰A；
A of B's C 对，因为of修饰A,而's修饰C
应该没错吧
