答案是C，之前翻过帖子都没有关于这道题省略的讨论，我想问一下C省略的是though it is called  a sea, the landlocked Caspian is actually the largest lake on Earth, 但是省略的be动词在这里是助动词（辅助构成被动语态），而后面主句is却是系动词，表示“是”，两个BE 动词虽然都是is但是作用不同是不能省略的吧。
因为之前OG的23题里面关于A选项就讨论过它的省略是错误的，因为The Iroquois were primarily planters（were是系动词）
                                                                                             but the Iroquois were supplementing （were是助动词，功能不同，不可共用）
两道题是一模一样的情况，为什么前面那一道题目的省略对了，后面的错了呢？求although省略问题的详解！！！
OG 23The Iroquois were primarily planters, but supplementing their cultivation of maize, squash, and beans with fishing and hunting.
(A) but supplementing
(B) and had supplemented
(C) and even though they supplemented
(D) although they supplemented

but和although使用的情况是不一样的，
but如果引导并联句必须是要求平行：SVO, but SVO或者 SVO but VO，注意不管怎么样，这里是需要V的，be ving这个整体才是working verb，而ving本身只是个participle，单独是不能做working verb的。因此，23A是错的。
although引导的是从句，通常情况是Although SVO, SVO, 但是当从句的主语和从句的主语一样，且是主系表结构时，从句里面的主谓可以省略。
比如：
Although I was tired, I still stayed very late to study GMAT yesterday.
Although tired, I still stayed very late to study GMAT yesterday.
I still stayed bery late to study GMAT,Although tired yesterday.
Doudou, although tired,still stayed very late to study GMAT yesterday.
这些都可以
换个思路详细，其实Although adj, SVO这种形式和opening modifier没什么区别，就只是在opening modifier之前加了个although,所以当没有although时候能成立的opening modifier，加上although后结构上仍然成立，只不过含以上改变了而已。
比如：
Although eradicated in the United States, polio continues else where and could be brought into the country by visitors.
没有although也可以成立
Eradicated in the United States, polio continues else where and could be brought into the country by visitors.\
其实再想一下，不光是although，其他引导状语从句的关系副词也有这种情况，比如when/where/if/unless/等。。。

这道题还有个疑问，b选项的错误是因为which的指代不明确么？gmat中which是不是只能指代前面的名词，介词短语也不能跳跃么？

首先，although/when/while/if/unless等是经常可以这样省略的，but并不这么用。判断标准就是去掉although也能说通，豆同学上面说的很清楚了。

其次，"SVO, which"这里面，which是不能越过V去指代S的。就算O的结构复杂一些，which跳跃指代O里面的一些内容，只要没歧义那就没问题；但跳跃跳过谓语去指代主语了，这就不对了嘛。
