关于based 和basing的区别问题，再贴出来求大牛指点~~

看了一个帖子

原题是
Based on accounts of various ancient writers, scholars have painted a sketchy picture of the activities of an

(B) Basing it on various ancient writers’ accounts,

感觉2L说“base是典型的只能用被动不能用主动的词”不对吧？
不是有种说法是base one thing on another thing，意为“根据。。。得出。。。”吗？

所以是不是A选项改成basing，把like改成as就正确了呢，然后再把harvesting前面的the去掉就正确了呢？

求指教~~~~
