waitlisted by Wharton and Stanford, 求建议

接连收到两个waitinglist，好桑心呐~~这两所学校要下waitling list都很难，不过听说也是有先例的。

Wharton 说 “Inthe spirit of fairness and equity towards all candidates, we will not acceptadditional materials for inclusion in your application. Thank you in advancefor honoring this policy.”
如果我还找校友写邮件去推荐一下是不是会不妥呢？

Stanford也是不接新材料，不过说可以写信去reaffirm interest，我打算加一点最近工作跟一些活动的update，还有什么应该写或者做的么？（T waive， GMAT 750，不打算再考了。）

大家有什么好的建议么？感激不尽啊~~

sorry to hear that. both of them deserve your effort to fight for a spot. you may check their waitlist instruction (e.g., whether they have wl managers or similar staff to contact) and ask the adcom what you could do to help improve your candidacy. ensure your questions are to the point. A very nice CDer told me to find out more waitlist survival tips on gmatclub. you might try too. here is a link for waitlisted by wharton http://gmatclub.com/forum/wharton-2012-calling-all-waitlisters-125560.html. hope it helps. good luck!

不过因为申请的时候工作的晋升被老板放 on hold，再等一年，很难解释工作上的进步。所以想要努努力从waitlist上下来

你在这里求建议，还不如去求求已经被录取的和你背景相似的，让他们放弃offer然后把位置让给你。WL自己做什么其实都没太大意义，关键看其他录的人有没有不愿意去的……

google一下国外申请生遇到的WL问题就清楚了，所有有名的国外MBA申请咨询机构总结都是一句话“Whatever the instruction is, follow it to the T”，别想自作聪明画蛇添足，那样会让你被adcom讨厌直接从W/L上撤下来——Ding!

学校拒绝接受WL申请人的补充材料，有学校本身的考量：直接收进来的都是“明星”；明显不符合学校要求的Ding掉；剩下的上WL的都是实际上各方面软硬件都达标，但缺少点亮点（或者校方考虑诚心不够），再加名额有限。所以经过了多伦筛选以后，对学校来说，WL上的人水平都差不多，选谁淘汰谁已经不太重要了，而学校也不愿意继续在受理整理WL学生的补充材料上耗费人力物力。

既然学校有明确指示了，你不能按照执行，难道不是告诉adcom你文字理解上有问题？如果面试的话，面试官问你一个问题，你给一个完全驴唇不对马嘴的答案。合适吗？既然是统一的指示，那么对所有人都是有效且公平的。别人老实本分的踏实等着，你非要继续表现自己，如果学校说了不接受补充材料又收了你的材料，是对其他人的不公平，你觉得学校会如何看待这么一个既不能理解意图又没有公平竞争原则的申请人？

wharton的真心不知道，S白纸黑字的告诉你“只能献忠”，你就考虑怎么抛头颅洒热血的献忠心，别添加无关的内容。不是所有的时候，“哪怕做点什么都比什么都不做好”。

最后还是鼓励LZ，被这两所名校WL说明LZ已经是那个档次的人了，就是差点，可能只是运气而已，祝好运。
