第八题中 E选项为 The universe to have begun in an explosive instant ten to twenty billion years ago and has been expanding.. 解释为 the verb phrase to have begun and has been begun both reference the same subjest of the clause, universe, and therefore need to be parallel.. 但是A选项中 that the universe bagan in an explosive instant ten to twenty billion years ago and has been expanding为什么不用parallel?
for your first problem: it is clear that 中it的用法是“placholder It”的第二种用法， 具体参见 Manhattan 4 sc 231页 Sometimes we need to move an awkward subject or object to the back of sentence. In these case, we put an "it" in the sentence where the subject or object used to be. We call this use of "it" "laceholder it". Do not look for a noun antecedent for a Placeholder it. it is clear that 就是这用用法， that 在这里是一个完整的句子， 其实是句子的主语只是放到主语的位置就头重脚轻了， 所以就想出来这种把办法 而 it is none that is more ... 就不一样了， 首先that 后面不是完整的句子， 它是用来修饰代词 none的，这样就不能做整个句子的主语了， 因此不是placeholder It的用法， 所以跟it is clear that不一样
"it is none that is more ... " is too wordy. we can change the sentence to "none is more ..." .
不选C的主要原因是："perhaps it is none that is more concentrated than"中that后面的is时态不对。至于"it is none that is more..."这个句型，我个人认为是没有问题的，这个句型并不wordy，而是一个标准的强调句型，强调的是"none"。it is/was + 强调部分+that/who +句子其余部分。例如，it is i who am right。
呃，我自己看第二遍的时候，关于OG对选项C和D的解释，又出现了点疑惑。 C中，OG解释，the relative clause that has expanded describes instant,which makes no sense. 好，这没问题，但接下来对D的解释就跟上面矛盾了。 D中，OG解释，illogically suggests that beginning is expanding,not the universe. 问题出来了，D中that is expangding应该和C中的情况一样，都是修饰instant的定语从句啊，应该是instant is expangding才对的！ 以上个人看法，请指教哇。

后来再想这个问题，觉得C中是个主系表结构，那么beginning和instan其实就是一个东西而已。D中虽然不是主系表结构，但是这个词组的表达方式holds the beginning ...to have been instant其实表达的跟主系表结构是一个含义，说白了就是beginning和instant是一个东西，所以这里我们暂且理解成不管后面的成分修饰的是哪个，这些修饰成分其实都是对beginning和instant都起到了解释说明的作用。 个人认为只能先这么理解了。
