我不太同意LS的观点. 那个not as highly as ...怎么也不可能理解成修饰the Aztec people吧? 还有,E里也没有but啊~

The correct answer is A.

C is apparently incorrect since a subject is required for was.

B is wrong by comparing it (the written language developed by Aztec people understood) with the Maya.

D 如果将being ... 结构与not as highly sophisticated as that of the Maya看作并列，形式不对称；如果看作因果关系，

        应该表达为：... written language, being more pictographics in nature, it was not as highly sophisticated as the Maya's.

E not as highly sophisticated as the Maya's 造成fragment.

ABC可以从逻辑意思上排除,not as highly sophisticated 和more pictographic in nature一个是优点一个是缺点.肯定不是一层意思

E的错是Maya's ,在句子中如果要用所有格省略形式,前面一定要有一个完整的形式, 而这里没有.

从结构上看not as highly sophisticated 和more pictographic in nature应该是并列修饰 written language,是一个小转折. E用it is把more pictographic in nature跟前面的所有内容形成转折,改变的句子的中心.

以上纯属个人的一点看法,还是NN指点一下吧.
