答案是D。但是D的主语是Leakey's contributions，所以开头的her work中的her无处指代，因为her无法指代所有格，GMAT中很多题目都是这样的。所以我觉得应该是C更好？

我的问题是关于这个所有格，D的主语是Leakey's contributions，所以开头的her work中的her无处指代，因为her无法指代所有格，GMAT中很多题目都是这样的。所以我觉得应该是C更好？

你没理解我的意思：这道题考的是并列结构
是说：这道题要用并列结构来排除错误选项：
AB. discovery和documenting不平行，错
E也不平行
C逻辑表达太奇怪了
只有D是平行的。

这两题说明，主语可以是人，也可以不是人，关键看In addition to her work on theMiocene hominid fossil record是跟谁比，如果跟主语比，主语就是物；如果跟宾语比，宾语是物，主语是人没问题。
最后还是用平行排除了错误选项。

her 就是指代 Leakey's
都是所有格指代没有问题
是it, them这些名词性代词，不能指代前面所有格里或做定语里的名词比如committee's
it 就不能指代committee
