你把括号里的去掉看，就看出来结构啦

BCDE都罗嗦了，当要表达动作时，尽量用动词，不要用罗嗦的名词，当要表达名词时，就要用名词，实在没有名词形式再用the+doing（complex gerund)
B选项中，the damaging不如damage好
剩下的CDE都把compensate这个动作用名词compensation来表达，罗嗦。

第2题的have不是助动词，而是实意动词的原形。所以对应补出的就是do
