B. younger people and the older
C. the younger and the older people
D. younger and older people
E. people who are younger and those who are older

其中D是正确选项，我主要不明白D和C，讲解里面说是关于特指和泛指的问题，请问C为什么不对？

the older本来就可以指老年人了『the+形容词，例如the rich=有钱人』 people多余了
我想若是用the younger and the older也是可以的只是选项中没有这个选项所以选D了
