划线部分是一个独立主格，不能有was和and，因为so that结构之间不能有逗号，只能把独立主格和两个逗号都拿掉

这题选C，请问NN插入语中间的独立主格部分如何理解，如果代表着和前半句并列的关系，为什么要用独立主格呢，在意思表达上和“So dogged were her investigations of the garment industry and sopersistent was her lobbying for wage and hour reform that she was first recruited byGov....."有什么区别呢？谢谢

复习到这道错题的时候还是不明白所以再次回来看帖子。

个人觉得LZ表达的"so dogged were...and so persistent was..."其实在逻辑上更好。

不过GMAC在这儿非要用插入语表达，即使在语法上是说的通的，也是非常非常的tricky==

这题应该选E把，
因为根据SO X, THAT Y的原则，只有CE是可以选择的

而这里不是独主而是插入句。独主是在句末出现修饰前面整句的

那么C好还是E好，我查了下曼哈顿的网页，上面的instructor RON说的很好，E更加平行，和前面的SO adj xxx的结构平行。
这里的结构有点相当于the more xxx, the more xxx的结构，当中不需要连接词，但是也是正确的

我选的E错了哇，选C。我纠结的是E不是个句子啊，放这里缺系动词啊；这里如果是句子的话应该加个系动词，如果是独立主格的话，我不太清楚对意思的表达起什么作用
