原来答案是C啊，这样好理解了，

The Achaemenid empire of Persia reached the Indus Valley in the fifth century B.C., bringing with it the Aramaic script, from which derive both the northern and the southern India alphabets.

---------- A reached IV, bringing with it A-script; the N & the S I-aphabets derive from A-script. (因为这后半句表示事实，所以用一般现在时态）

其中 derive from = be derived from -------- longman 中 derive from 有二种用法，见下面例子：

（1） This word is derived from Latin. （2） patterns of behaviour that derive from basic beliefs

比较昏... 看来诸多答案不准还是一个问题。
现在我也比较明白了。介词短语放在句首倒装了一下。

但我还是不明白主动和被动的判断...可以说成both northern and southern India alphabets are derived from...么？如果可以的话，那a就是谓语单复数搞错的问题...

       其实就是一个倒装形式。还原之后为：
              from which both the northern and the
southern India alphabets derive。

其实这题我觉得挺难的，不小心就选了D。除了语法正确，还真得注意逻辑正确呢。D选项说Aramaic script是从alphabetst中起源的。而C是说alphabets是从Aramaic script中起源的。差了一下字典，alphabets是字母表的意思，Aramaic script 是阿米拉语手记的意思。觉得应该是字母表从手记中起源更好。
