我的问题是D选项的gathering有没有修饰earth的歧义，gathering前面没有逗号应该不可以做状语修饰sail吧？
最后在追问一个just as with 的用法。。。

恰恰是因为没有逗号，gathering才能修饰前面的句子，加了逗号就修饰astronomers have made...去了

另外GMAT语法讲究的是相对完美，歧义这个东西，看你怎么解读。earth是不可能gather的，不影响理解

just as with 我没听说过，你可以google一下
