請教大神們！！

the air quality of las vegas was higher in 2007 than that in 1997-incorrect
ron 解釋:
this is not parallel; the left-hand structure is interupted by a verb, whie the right-hand structure contains no such verb

這裡的“that" 是指"the air quaity" 而已嗎？

所以與前句meaning 不平行???

我感覺語法是平行, 意思不平行

看完ron 解釋後還是不太懂...

求解感恩！

Cambridge Dictionary有个例句供你参考：
My son is a lot taller than my daughter.
我的儿子比女儿高得多。

GmatLa有讨论是这样的，供参考（不代表大神意见哦，只是网友讨论的）：
R：the air quality of las vegas in 2007 was higher than that in 1997
W: the air quality of las vegas was higher in 2007 than that in 1997，前面部分的名词和in 2007之间被谓语动词隔开了，后面that in 1997却没有这样一个动词
R：the air quality of las vegas was higher in 2007 than it in 1997，it指代the air quality of las Vegas，两部分时态一致，动词可以省略
R：the air quality of las vegas was higher in 2007 than it was in 1997

謝謝. 所以錯的原因是因為因為前句沒有2007, 造成meaning 不對等, 無法比較？

楼主，我个人理解哈，综合各路大神网友剑桥词典的释义讨论，这个句子有争议呢。。

这个语法明显不平行呀，如果要平行应该是：
air quality of las vegas in 2007对应that in 1997才行。
