A 为什么不对呢？five years ago 这个状语有与其平行的副词啊：in the coming years，这里局部比较是说的通的啊，就是比较两个不同的时间点啊。。求教，为什么非要用全局比较呢？

我知道C是对的，我是说在单独比较两个时间状语的时候（局部比较），比如：The animosity between those who regulate and those who are regulated has never been more pronouncedthan in recent debates over environmentalism and pollution control.

这个例句中never与in recent debates相对应

这题前后的时态不一样，所以谓语动词不能省，你可以看看这题Soaring television costs accounted for more than half the spending in the presidential campaign of 1992, a greater proportion than it was in any previous election.
A. a greater proportion than it was
B. a greater proportion than
C. a greater proportion than they have been
D. which is greater than was so
E. which is greater than it has been
这题答案是b，因为只是名词短语的比较，所以可以省略

还有比较对象要清楚，如果省略直接用时间状语的话，会造成比较对象不对等

in the coming year和five years ago不全是construction industry’s economic health的时间啊，in the coming year是A large rise 的时间状语，局部比较应该是同一事物的两个不同时间状语的比较吧

谢谢你的题目，你说的这题就是in the presidential campaign of 1992 和 in any previous election 的局部比较，in any previous election 和in the president campaign of 1992 的时态一致都是过去式所以是可以省略主谓的~而我给的这个题目，in the coming year 和 five years ago 是在不同的时态中，所以谓语动词不能省略的。谢谢了~我了解了！

嗯嗯，这个说的也有道理的！所以局部的时间壮语比较归纳下，第一是同一个事物的不同时期比较，第二是，两个不同的时期在一个是时态中。

你的意思是会造成 the construction industry's economic health 与 five years 在作比较吗？我觉得不会耶，后面明显是时间状语，这个歧义应该是没有的啊。
