关于学位、gpa的这句话啥意思？

请教一下过来人：

     1.  must hold a Bachelor's Degree (not lower than Second Class Lower
Division Honors or B Grade) or equivalent professional qualification;

这话是说啥？ 什么or 什么？

另一所香港大学：

The basic requirements for our program admissions are:
1. A first degree

何谓first degree?是指有学位证即可吗？
