请问一下大家觉得d选项哪里错？那个size 对么？ four million in population呢？

最明显的错误是 and many vs. many of whom。
many of whom 指出了是 many of the population, 前面段子里提到的。但是many 指代不清。
size是对的，在E中用that指代了。
还有就是平行问题，that of ....a population of .... 完美平行。但是D就不平行了。

size没有问题，但两两相较时，后面表达应该为comparable to that of...

four million in population 并不是惯用的表达

这题还有另外一个问题：and many本来是修饰成分，即many of whom (four million people)，但现在却成了并列的主干。
