答案是C, 我选的是D.

我认为C中的they既可以指代主语declines, 又可以指代speculators, 是否当前面有两个以上的复数名词时,得重复代词的指代对象,用一个词来概括代词的指代对象呢 ?

还有, 什么情况下可以用代词,什么情况必须用重复代词的指代对象?

个人理解declines根本不可能to sell，they不是强制/一定指向declines，所以显然they指speculators，如果declines换成一个其它什么能to sell的东东可能就会有歧义了。这时用重复词也许清楚些。
