答案是D, 我选的是A. on the ground 后面为什么不能接of？我知道to do 表示目的，但for doing 和of doing 分别表示什么啊，他们之间有什么区别啊

答案是B, 我选的E. 我想问下为什么不能用to do 结构？

In general, we prefer that clause than the expression of "of", cause it can convey the meaning of the sentence clear.
Unless a simple noun phrase after the "of "(also convey the expression clear)
remember it as the regulation.

E is wrong for 2 reason
a) the expression of "to inves.. what the effects changes in" is ungrammatical.
it should be " to inves..the changes."直接跟名词就好了..

b)至于你说to do/
这里investigating...主要是修饰experiments..
而to do动作发出的主语是experiments还是company..
这里句子的重心是 Hawthorne Works of the Western Electric Company was the scene of an intensive series of experiments ，后面用分词结构修饰experiment句子就够就显得更清晰.
