看不懂method的用法，求指教

下面两个题是08语法笔记上给出的一个关于method的用法的解释
(1)method of/for (doing) something优于 the method to：
137. Coronary angiography, a sophisticated method for diagnosing coronary disease involving the introduction of a dye into the arteries of the heart, is now administered selectively, because it uses x-rays to observe cardiac function.

可是在第一个例子里的method 跟第二个例子里的method有什么差吗？为什么我看不出来，求大牛们指点下啊？为什么第一个用for doing 好，第二个是迫于选项所以选了D吗？如果有了一个是forming 然后laying的选项，是不是就得选这个了？

我觉得第一个跟第二个里面的method没有什么差别的，都是作“方式，方法”讲
但是因为第二题主要的考得是平行，used method后面的内容跟前面的to build以及后面的to lay平行，所以在这里用to form要比用forming更好一些。
恩，也就是说一般情况下还是用methof of/for doing sth. ，但是如果句子中出现了一些特殊情况的话就用to do（换句话说也就是method to do的用法不错，不能用它来直接排除选项）
个人意见~仅供参考哈

恩~第一种用法是最常见的，朗文牛津词典上都列举了但是关于to do的话，我觉得也可以表目的吧，一定要是method的内容吗？之前看到过一个句子：Plan a method to collect data for a specific tourism purpose.
我觉得这里的method后面的to ....好像是在说目的啊：筹划一个方法来.....
请问这个是为什么呢？

按版主的说法，那么表示method本身的目的用for 或of, 而用method去完成某件事情得时候就还是用to do 吗？我一开始读着也是觉得第一个表目的，但是蓦然想到，表目的必须TO啊,仔细琢磨下，是不是这样，use this method to do sth, a method for doing sth 那么 there is a method to do sth算对或错啊?呼唤版主好人做到底啊……

推荐weirui的说法:这里是method is to do，to do即表内容。而不是method to do
