答案选D,现在已经明白了。

我看not only,but also，若是倒装语态是可以在but also之间加东西的。例：《新编英语语法》薄冰P633：Not only does he compose music, but he also play
若是在正常语序下，例：He plays not only the piano but also the violin. （连接两个宾语），短语本身不可以加入其它成份，比如变成：not only...but it also...是错误的（因为破坏了平衡）。

但是我觉得在前面有did了，这里应该用原型，所以不是created错误，而是gave错误，应该改成give。不知对不对

所以，根据上述not only ，but also的规则，not only but also的用法刚才那三位的观点是不是不正确？？？

那此题的错误分析是否如下：
A:逻辑错误，not only,but also表示递进，而此处表示转折。gave时态错误，前句已经出现过去时，此处应该用一般时态give
B:逻辑错误。which指代错误。
C:没有谓语，且后面的分词可能歧义的修饰US.
D:CORRECT
E:不伦不类，not only but also也不齐全，giving分词可能歧义的修饰前面的名词；逻辑错误。

这个题就是D,没有not only，不是考固定搭配，而是考逻辑意思。
我的疑问是
上面我不同意的那三位的观点，到底谁对谁错。
还有，我对此题的分析对不对....

嗯嗯，你分析的部分基本是对的，但是一个明显的错误是E里面的那个not only...but (also)...的用法是对的，那个also是可以省略的；
然后另外就是C, E中的把动词改成了v+ing形式也是的其后的成分变成了从属成分，改变了原来的句子结构

另外，题目下面有一句话Note: Guan, Weidong told me that ETS made the question wrong. The answer should be “A” on the condition of “it but also”.请问这个又如何解释呢？
