答案是E extinctions 前必须加the吗？？还是不加也可以

此题我个人觉得只有在DE之间选择，
D选项：更明显的错误在and it marks上，it 指代的是什么，不清楚，makrs 与哪个平行，也不清楚

E：the的用法在这里比较小了，不容易看出来。换个角度说吧，如果不加the，读者读了会以为是plant and animal exticntion,这是个泛指的概念，过去有，现在也有，会造成歧义。因此加上the,表示是由于是asteriod造成的灭绝，就不会引起歧义
