想问下这里的主语是Many? 那后边的date 和 were怎么不用单数形式?

many不是主语? in of from不都介宾了么..求解..

界个题目嘛.你发来先underline 一下..这个那个部分

主语应该是images--a plural term requiring the verb date and were to be主谓一致.

我觉得做语法首先理解它的意思。这个题目是说：许多较早的佛像图案是取之于（fashioned, 翻译的不好；中文很烂）沙石of mathura 和 Gandharan 的灰片岩。这样看的话，你应该就觉得“许多”不可能是主语。

主语是Many of .... images啊，而且只有E的either from ..... or from平行对称吧？
