错误选项很容易排除，我对于正确选项和那个干扰项非常困惑（D and E)，希望高人能够解答。

答案是D吧。
我也只好说是有仇报仇。。。
E改得面目全非，by consumers作为插入语(方式状语)，没有这种用法，且故意啰嗦。虽然作主语代词首先指前句的主语household cleaning products

同理，D项根据them复数，而前句首a consumer不能指代，转而这个them是指household cleaning products
原句两处错误相应改正，正确（其实我刚刚觉得D不清晰，them 可以是household cleaning products 也可能是 hazardous substances）

其他项错误明显，LZ自己也说了，不赘述

謝謝樓上大俠！其實by 那個部份做插入語是可以的，只是我現在考慮了很久，覺得是因為會于後面的them引起意思的混淆。不知道你覺得呢？

是这样的。。E选项在them前面出现了products和consumers两个复数。。所以排除E。。。
