答案是B,但是B中的that应该用those替代啊,是carbon emissions 是复数呀~~

That refers to LEVEL, not emissions.

they 不是指The ancient Anasazi 吗?

The ancient Anasazi were dead long time also.  How could "they NOW call  ...."  They refer to the plants. Then how could brainless plants CALLL?
