问一道as/like的用法

More than thirty years ago Dr. Barbara McClintock, the Nobel Prize winner, reported that genes can “jump,” as pearls moving mysteriously from one necklace to another.
A. as pearls moving mysteriously from one necklace to another
B. like pearls moving mysteriously from one necklace to another
C. as pearls do that move mysteriously from one necklace to others
D. like pearls do that move mysteriously from one necklace to others
E. as do pearls that move mysteriously from one necklace to some other one

因为看到解析的第一句话就是“JUMP” written in quotes means hypothetical… so LIKE
疑问选项是C/E，as表示像的时候，引导一个句子正确呀？？？

as（连词）+主谓结构，可以表示比较强调动作的相似性。

C选项as pearls do that....that引导的modifier位置有问题
E选项as do pearls that.... 在做比较时，as后面引导的clause是不倒装的
另外这里是一个比喻句，是把不同的事物（genes&pearls）拿来比，所以用like会更好一些
