我当时做的时候看到句子以like开头，就觉得主句里主语应该和grassy fields and old pastures 对应，所以先把A、B、C排除了，再通过句子结构的完整性把E排除。现在看看虽然the sandpiper's vanishing也不能很好的和grassy fields and old pastures 对应，但是觉得正确答案也解释不通啊。希望大家可以帮我解惑，谢谢。

意思是就像grassy fields and old pastures一样，the sandpipers自己也因。。。原因正在消失。因此b是对应的。

得根据句意做吧

这个题要对比的其实应该是
those fields and pastures (which are disappearing) and the bird (which is also disappearing);
这样就可以排除CDE,只能在AB里选
但A 主谓不一致
the sandpipers vanishing in the northeastern United States is a result
