答案是E，为什么啊？我选的D，因为我认为pollutants是可数，应该用fewer,而且E怎么能说those burning gasoline or diesel fuel，还没补出谓语动词

D很明显不平行对称。不能把 vehicles和burning比
than 的左边是vehicles emit, 右边是burning does，不对称。

E 平行对称原则， vehicles 对those， powered by 对 burning。没问题。相同动词可以省略，不补出也对。
less指量，fewer指种类。先搞清楚，释放更少量的污染物，还是释放更少种类的污染物？
