Nations should cooperate to develop regulations that limit children’s access to adult material on the Internet.**The Internet is a worldwide computer network.
Discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the opinion stated above. Support your views with reasons and/or examples from your own experience, observations, or reading
Whether nations should cooperate to develop regulations to limit children's access to adult material on the Internet is a controversial issue, which has drawn considerable attention of public nowadays. As far as I concern, I agree with the author's conclusion that nations should attempt to build these regulations by the regularly national cooperation. My positions are based on a deep and fundamental analysis discussed as follows.
On the one hand, with the rapid development of technology such as Internet, we can have access to abundent(abundant) information available on it. Consequently, the ease to reach these material, however, makes children have more chances to review some adult items, such as some sexual movies, pictures and books, which will be seriously harmful to the psychology of the children and distort the view of them about the society. Hence, it is fully necessary for the government to set up some regulations to decrease the possibility of children to be involved in such materials.
On the other hand, the Internet is based on the worldwide computer system, which is beyond the boundaries of separated nations. As a result, it is not feasible for one nation itself to control the effect of adult material on children. For example, maybe someone in country A has release some sexual videos on the Internet, making these materials available to the children in country B. In this case, consequently, it is hard for the government B to use its own regulations to punish the crime in government A if in A there are no related policies to manage adult material on the Internet. Under this circumstance, it is obvious that international regulations are highly necessary for the effective management of Internet resources.
Admittedly, recognizing that the current Internet is a very complicated system and that more political and economic aspects are contained in it, I agree that national cooperation faces a lot of obstacles, especially between the two countries having hostile relationship. Nevertheless, in spite of different difficulties, I will appeal that we should never give up the effort to realize the worldwide cooperation to develop regulations thatlimit the availbility(availability) of adult material on the internet so that children can grow in a clear(fresh) and healthy circunment(environment).
In sum, the Internet issue as well as the solution to it is international in scope. Therefore, a cooperation based on nations is dispensable to develop regulations that limit children's access to adult sexual material on the internet. Although we are facing many difficulties and obstacles to achieve this goal, we should never give up our effort to do so for the bright future of next generations.
