请教OG12-21中的分词用法

这道题目的DE选项，OG的解释是这样的：

E. Like D, this sentence attemps to attach a present-tense descriptor to a present-perfect clause.
不明白的是DE中的drawing是现在分词作伴随状语吗？如果是的话，它的逻辑主语不是应该是句子的主语吗？为什么OG会觉得seemsto modify adulthood呢？
有点糊涂了，请教大家，多谢。

我觉得DE的意思是n,doing是可以做定语的,也就错误的修饰了adulthood,但其实应该是句子的谓语,

请问如果这道题的doing部分作状语错在哪儿？

分词作状语时态要跟前面谓语一致？这道题改成：... , now having drawn ... ？

另外 ... N. , doing ... 怎样判断分词作定语还是状语？句意？

是不是可以这样理解：OG认为 n,doing 可能有歧义

如果这样的话这句子在OG里就是错的了？

按OG 的推論, 這裡的 seeing nothing 是用來描述the lamp 而不是he

在BY也好，PREP破解也罢，里面提到的“，＋ing”有两种情况：一是分词修饰主句谓语，ing的主语和主句主语一致，表示同时发生；二是修饰主句整句句子，表示伴随结果。并没有提到作后置定语修饰逗号前的名词。
而在实际的情况中，在OG上和manhattan上我都看到过“，＋分词”可以表示定语修饰前面的名词。不过这往往都不是正确答案，属于混淆选项。（我的映像当中没有看到过正确答案是用“n.，＋分词”作定语修饰名词的。
所以按照我的习惯，仍旧是抓住上面两点，表同时发生或表伴随结果，OG和PREP里有足够多的题目都是选这两种情况。概率上来说比作定语要大的多。

OG12th/30 一道老题目了

Animal-hide shields with wooden frames were essential items of military equipment, protecting warriors against enemy arrows and spears.

代入正确选项就是这个protecting，根据解释 protecting creats a modifying phrase that clearly explains the purpose of the itmes of military equipment.————就是说现在分词修饰前面的名词，做定语。

做到这道题是，知道选protecting，就是头疼，这个是做状语还是定语？

如果这句话加一个thereby呢？

He turned off the lamp, thereby seeing nothing.

OG12th /23 貌似就是这样

Once designed with its weight concentrated in a metal center, the discus used in track competition is now lined with lead around the primeter, thereby improving stability ...

这道题没有考查后面的现在分词部分，假设原句没划线部分正确，这里现在分词显然是作状语表结果吧

就这个分词问题想了一天了，难道是又在钻牛角尖？？

ls的解释说的是做修饰短语，解释了items的目的。
就解释来看是作定语修饰item。
我做这道题的时候，理解为修饰were essential的。貌似也说的通。

请教OG12-21中的分词用法
