2方面吧。which 通常不指代一句话。
Th e placement of also is incorrect 。
此题中主要看平行吧，应该是 not only.. but also. 句子改成了 not only... but...also . 所以说also的位置不对。

我当时排除E还有一个原因是因为平行。。。原句中not just (because of +名词短语）but also（because+句子）不平行。而正确选项B就平行了，not just by the fact that...but also by the fact that...

对现象的解释，用现在时，表示现在还是这样解释的
用过去时，表示过去这样解释，隐含的意思是现在不这样解释了
