There was fruitful discussion on this sentence. But I have an interesting finding on a variation of this sentence.
If the sentenced is rewriten in this way:
Even though money removed
out of stock funds in July is more than in any month since October 1987, sales of fund
shares in July were not as low as an industry trade group had previously
estimated.
I think in this case, the pronoun should be inserted. So the correct answer should be like:
that in any other other month since October 1987, sales of fund shares in July weare not as low as what.
