E是答案，但总觉得这个句子不对呀。

named 是谓语。the white house/ named 。。。 of experts it assigned / to do ......

谓语是name，任命。

如果D是assigned to do估计我就选D了。it assigned to do我总觉得有些歧义，可以是修饰the federal advisory committee of experts，也可以是experts。按GMAT的风格的话修饰对象应该是experts了。it指的是the white house。
