AI:黄金80题的15 “Nations should cooperate to develop regulations that limit children’s access to adult material on the Internet.” * *The Internet is a worldwide computer network.
Discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the opinion stated above. Support your views with reasons and/or examples from your own experience, observations, or reading.
“国家间应该合作发展规范以限制儿童接触英特网上的成人内容。”
There is much controversy over the issue of children’s Internet usage limitation. Some people claim that children's accession to adult material on the Internet should be limited by nations regulations, while others believe that it's not necessary to do so. In my point of view, I agree with the former and there are numerous reasons supporting my view. In the first place, the child doesn't have the awareness of protecting himself, especially his privacy. Just imagine a little boy chats on the Internet, he is more likely to tell the others his true information, including his name, his age even where he lives. And then, it's really easy for a bad guy to figure out information, such as the time when the boy's parents are not at home, to help him take rubbery. So it's insecurity for children to change information on the adults' website. In the second place, the kids are too juvenile to identify between the truth and the lies on the Internet. It is known to adults that although there is billions of information on the Internet, a great proportion of them is fake. So adults take the information from the Internet seriously and have the ability to distinguish the truth based on their experience or the related information. However, the children haven't accumulated enough experience for them to do so. When they see seemingly correct information published on the Internet, they are more likely to believe it when the information is actually wrong. Thus, the fake information may lead the children to a wrong direction in the future education. Finally, there're too many violent videos and pictures on the Internet, especially on the adult material. As we all know, children are curious about new things and can learn them quickly by imitation. What if a young boy saw a video about killing and felt very exciting? It is probably that he would commit the crime to hurt someone. Even if he doesn't take action, the video still gives him an impressive influence that is not good for his growth. Consequently, due to the above-mentioned reasons, it is not difficult to draw the conclusion that, for the children's sake, Nations should cooperate to develop regulations that limit children's access to adult material on the Internet.
好吧我知道有很多拼写错误。。。已经丢到WORD里改过了。。。
AA:黄金80题的15 The following appeared as a part of an advertisement for Adams, who is seeking reelection as governor. “Re-elect Adams, and you will be voting for proven leadership in improving the state’s economy. Over the past year alone, seventy percent of the state’s workers have had increases in their wages, five thousand new jobs have been created, and six corporations have located their headquarters here. Most of the respondents in a recent poll said they believed that the economy is likely to continue to improve if Adams is reelected. Adams’s opponent, Zebulon, would lead our state in the wrong direction, because Zebulon disagrees with many of Adams’s economic policies.”
Discuss how well reasoned... etc.
In this argument, the arguer concluded that citizens should vote for Adams as the governor. To support this conclusion, the arguer points out during the past years, most of the workers' salary had increased, thousands of new jobs have been created and six corporations have located their headquarters in the states. This evidence coupled with the result of a recent poll leads to the author's rosy prediction. However, this argument is unconvincing because it suffers from several critical flaws. In the first place, the author attributes the growth of the state's economy to the governor. This is fallacious reasoning unless other possible causal explanations have been considered and ruled out. For example, the whole world's economy rocket to a peak in the recent years, so it is unavoidable that the state governed by Adam achieve prosperity. In the second place, the poll cited by the author is too vague to be persuasive. The claim does not mention who conducted the poll, who responded, or how the poll was conducted. Especially, it is impossible to access the validity of the result in the condition of lacking the information about the number of people surveyed and the number of respondents. Maybe there're only 100 people attended the poll when there is hundreds of thousands of citizens in the state. Third, the author assumes without justification that the background conditions have remained the same at the different time. Adams' policy may only fit the economic environment in the past years. When the state’s invest environment changes, for example, it is possible that the former governor can't adapt to the new environment and lead the state to a misery. Last but no the least, the author claims that Zebulon will lead the state to the wrong direction simply because the disagreements between Zebulon and Adams. This is, however, no guarantee that this is the case. Nor does the author cite any evidence to support this assumption. Even if the growth of economy is truly because of Adams' great policy, there's no evidence that Zebulon can't give the state a much better future. To conclusion, the argument is not persuasive as it stands. Before we accept the claim, the arguer must provide more substantial facts to prove, for example, the whole economy environment has and will remain stable and Zebulon's policies are really not as good as Adams'. Only with more concrete information and more detailed information and more solid evidence could this argument become more that an emotional appeal.
