请教关于Prep中的语法

看到一题，正确的选项是：

我当时选择的是in the Louisiana Purchase of 1803，不理解为什么正确的是用with？！

The Louious Monk, who has a jazz pianist and composer, produced a body of work both rooted in the strude-piano tradition of Willie (The Lion) Smith and Duke Ellagton, yet in many way he stood apart from the mainstream jazz repertory

(B) The Louious Monk, the jazz pianist and composer, produced a body of work that was rooted both

我选了B，但是答案是C，我不理解为什么B不对，是因为不能用both么？但是为什么？

第一题我一直就不明白with结构在gmat的用法，
第二题该人的音乐风格来源于一个tradition，而不是一个tradition and a person

第一题中in the Louisiana Purchase of 1803的句子有错误。
我记得这题排除法就解出来了。正解中with有凭借的意思。

第二题中简洁性原则Jazz pianist and composer the louious monk肯定是首选
另外。both是要并列的意思而in the strude-piano tradition of Willie (The Lion) Smith and Duke Ellagton
这里in the strude-piano tradition of Willie (The Lion) Smith 和Duke Ellagton并不是并列的呀
GWD里面有一样的考点。如果做过的题目。要有印象才行。不然就白费了。

第二题明白了，但是第一题，还有有点不解，为什么不能选in Louisiana Purchase of... 我觉得解释为在那次购买的事件中，比凭借那次购买事件，似乎更合适。
