答案是E，我知道前面四个是不对的，可是我有些不明白E也是有歧义的吧。
John Anderson 前面是不是应该加of，使George in 1968 and John Anderson in 1980平行，
就是变成the independent candidacies of George in 1968 and of John Anderson in 1980才正确啊，
不然的话不是可能理解成the independent candidacies 和John Anderson 平行了么？这样不会产生歧义么？

it cannot be the independent candidacies. because a single candidate won't have multiple candidacies in one election.
