确认一道并列结构的语法题

这个题目我觉得应该选择E，但是答案给的是C。我觉得C明显不对因为the speed and path形式上不完全对称，另外AD不对因为不可以用their，应该用its指代hurricane 单数形式。

大家觉得我的答案有什么问题么？希望大家指点！！谢谢

同意lz AD不对的原因，但是E的and好像也不对吧，再有那个for好像不可以省略~~

平行是这样的：
for gauging the storm's structure and strength, not the speed and path of its movement

如果是B的话，应该改成：for gauging the storm's structure and strength, not for GAUGING the speed and the path of their movement

这个题目我后来反复看了看答案C确实是正确的这个题干的主干部分为the data are useful for gauging……逗号后面的部分应该与structure and strength并列所以not the speed and path of its movement.
