看了对OG105网上各位的解释，还是觉得不理解，特请教各位大牛！

105. An inventory equal to 90 days sales is as much as even the strongest businesses carry, and then only as a way to anticipate higher prices or ensure against shortages.

一、Inventory 在文中肯定是可数名词，但是“an inventory is as much as ”应该如何翻译和理解？

二、carry在句中是名词还是动词？如果是名词，是否应该用the carry of even the strongest businesses? 如果是动词，那么句子是否为省略了what的宾语从句, 即“an inventory is as much as (what) even the strongest businesses carry”?

OG中没有此点的说明，好像论坛上也是各执一词，有没有NN和版主来指点一下？

不过还是不明白为什么可数名词an inventory 可以和as much as放在一起？为什么不是“an inventory .... is as many as”(eg. OG89: there is now one microcomputer for every thirty-two pupils , four times as many as there were four years ago.) 或是"the inventory .... is as much as"??

另外后半句的as a way 是否是as much as a way 的省略形式？先谢啦！

按OG132对equal的解释 ( "a volume of water equal to Lake Michigan." ), inventory这里应该是不可数名词.

我觉得可以这样理解.

１.a volume of water equal to Lake Michigan和an inventory equal to.....我觉得并不一样吧，因为water 前面有量词volume, a water equal to Lake Michigan才应该和an inventory equal to.....差不多，迷惑中。

2.　as much as后面为什么省略的是the way呢？我觉得as much as an inventory 更好一些
