umm……第一题么……是要选B的，这题的错误还算明显，Discovering in young manhood the secret that the Yankee peddler has learned before him的主语显然是L，A选项里面最大的错误是in young manhood 的位置如如果不是发现A和E看起来非常像我都没注意AE的时态问题，因为in young manhood 的位置已经导致了AE的语句歧义如果是从时态角度分析的话，个人觉得应该是用has learned 之所以用has，可能会有意见觉得用had，但是discovering的主语是L，就是从L的角度上去看待Yankee 的这件事情，应该就不是过去的过去发生的事情了，而是到Ldiscovering的时间为止已经发生的事情所以觉得用has

第二题主要是在BE之间选择，的确有点困难 BE之间的区别有两个：1 时态不同 2.副词virtually的位置不同
declined steadily during the first six months of this year 这件事情已经在过去完成且没有提到对现在的影响，所以前半句的时态用一般过去式没有问题关键是后面的半句句子中的亮点应该是this year，this year的出现决定了后面半句的时态可以用现在完成时现在完成时在两种情况下使用：1.过去开始的事情一直持续到现在 2.过去发生的事情对现在有影响这句话里面可以理解为第一种情况~

为什么 in the ...... 这句话会显示有歧义呢，我现在也觉得 a 是分词这个结构不对，
