In your opinion, which one is better, to spend money on something that lasts for a long time, such as valuable jewelry, or spend your money on short term pleasure such as vacation?

If you have saved great amount of money, which way do you choose to spend? Some people prefer to buy some valuable things, such as jewelry and gold, that can be lasted for generations, while others prefer to enjoy their temporary pleasure by traveling. The price of Jewelry and gold can maintain without change and even increase to an unprecedented level, and a timely plan of travel can relieve people from pressure of the work and the tedious way of common lives. However, to my mind, both of these suggestions are not my preference. As I am a young adult, my curious about knowledge need be satisfied for my further career life and my requirements on the basic ways of life, such as comfortable house and healthy food, should be considered also. So, I will pay more attention on the education and basic quality of life.
A high, well-educated individual will have more chances to close the eventual success in his/her life. Today, update of knowledge become more and more frequent. It is impossible to wish that information you obtain in college-hood is still fashion after you graduation. On no account need you to continue study with the current innovation in your related fields. However, it is well accepted to us that college students are not experts in their fields, and can't learn analytical thinking in which they can well adjust them to the changes. Therefore, you will assign to very tedious without any challenge jobs that you boss holds the view that you are not competent to accomplish. The employer prefers the high educated ones. Actually, this is the awkward problem I have come across during the two years work after graduation. So, this is the main reason that I choose to continue invest in education.
Moreover, improving the quality of life is another factor I care about. The requirement of basic life, such as the comfortable house with convenience needs of life and nutrient from food, should be met for health. We all know that without healthy, you can 't do anything. Health benefits not only a strong body that can easily avoid sickness, but it is also the basis for your career success. Take my tutor, professor Tang, for example, he has experienced several surgeries on the surround of his waist for the recent two years because of too much seating on the desk to read while lacking of necessary practice. It was scarcely to find any creative papers written by him in the last two years and I am afraid that he won’t wholehearted focus on research because of the bad situation of his current health. Therefore, I spend a lot of money on something related to my health: living in a quiet and large house for studying, presenting multiple and suitable food choices for my regular needed nutrients, and also joining an exercising party.
Based on the above discussion, I feel safe to conclude that people should not only invest in the deposit or the entertainment. Actually, in terms of future career success, further education and health life should be aroused more attention. |
