consider的用法就是consider X Y, 例如：

I consider Tom an outstanding employee.

consider加as的结构一般语法肯定是对的，但……具体这里是不是多余不清楚

我没有查过其他词典但是至少在longman里头没有看到consider...as的用法

当作“to think of someone or something in a particular way or to have a particular opinion ”解时，有这么几种用法
consider (that)

The local authority considered that the school did not meet requirements.

consider somebody/something (to be) something

A further increase in interest rates is now considered unlikely.
Liz Quinn was considered an excellent teacher.
They consider themselves to be Europeans.

consider it necessary/important etc to do something
consider somebody/something to do something

白用语法上写的：consider后面常省略to be和as
正确用法：consider sth. sth.;
consider sth. +adj.;
consider+that从句

首先你要从逻辑的意思上判断出来是writer consider and portray，所以and 后面可以用portray或to portray，to portray更明确。然后看选项
(A) to be legitimate subjects for literature and portray these
和E比portray不是很清晰，哪怕用了to portray也不是很好。these指代不好。总之没E好。这个答案我是留着等看到E才排除的。
(B) should be legitimate subjects for literature and portray these
宾语从句没that，and portray有歧义和be并列。
(C) as being legitimate subjects for literature and portraying them
portraying并列错，being多余
(D) as if they were legitimate subjects for literature and portray them
as if意思不对，表示好像
(E) legitimate subjects for literature and to portray them
consider A B，用的很好；to portray用的很漂亮，并列明确。类似的单词有designate A B
