The correct choice is(E).But why not （D）？For (E) has changed the topic sentence from 主动to被动, so how to explain it?

The above list sentence shows that the right answer is C. I am really puzzled by the answers between C and D. As contrast to the former question, when to keep the main topic sentence and when to change its 语态？How to taste the preference of ETS? 感谢亲爱滴回答偶的提问。
                    

1.D有两个主语，很明显，the promotions, retirements, and other actions approved by the board of directors, including obituaries,不可能做Meeting in May的同位语，凭此点排除了D。而且不是谁改主动的问题，这题的原因在于death是不能approved 的，这是必须提出来单独讲的。、

2.这题也是跟语态没什么关系，句首分词状语决定了主语必须是印刷品，那么就剩下ACE 来比较了，E 主语有歧义，剩下AC，我倒是在这两个选项中犹豫了一轮，虽然觉得是C在句意上比较好，其实我不认为A在语法结构上有问题，希望这点有高人确认一下，是不是这个结构不妥。
