答案选的是C，我选择了D；

请牛牛给解释一下。我很早就排除了C，因为使用的是it, limits.我认为 struggles that limits…这种说法是不对的。

句义：是一件事limits，不能用limit，it 作形式主语说的是这件事，原句要说的是在加州能广泛繁衍，同时，由于同类的相似性导致的同类不太为争夺地盘争斗这件事，反而使他们在本土阿根廷不能广泛繁衍。选C

不选D     后半句说的成了蚂蚁不太卷入使他们在本土阿根廷不能广泛繁衍的争斗

不敢苟同，按你的意思如果It是形式主语，后边跟的是一个跨度超长的so that结构，整个后半部分的意思就跟“a lack of genetic variation in the Argentine ant has allowed the species to spread widely; ”这个前提完全相反了。
