看prep一头雾水，一点信心都没有了，郁闷ing

请帮忙看一下A,B,C三项的特点，尤其是B,C的区别吧。。。谢谢咯

B: a ratio that compares的compare不能用主动方式表达，应该是被比较

注意：as compared to/with 省略了主语和系动词，是惯用法

MM问的这道又是GWD争议题（GWD-1-7），BC争议。去查下讨论吧。

刚好偶才与一考友讨论了这题，随附偶的小结，供参考。

                    CEO’s是CEO的复数形式，以缩写字母组成的专有名词的复数形式可以是加’s或加s；

2、
                    B中的ratio无法与后面的42 times进行合理的比较；

3、 C中的419 times the pay与42 times their pay比较，the ratio…是42 times their pay的同位语；

4、
                    摘自GWD阅读的一个句子：Industrialization was well advanced in both countries by 1920: over 33 percent of American workers were employed in various industries, as compared to 44 percent of Swiss workers.（GWD-4-5~7）

这个题目很让偶晕菜的。。。

我坚持认为，B的a ratio作的是419 times the pay of blue-collar workers的同位语, 也就是说从本质上来讲compares to连接的还是两个对等的比较：419 times the pay 和 42 times （the pay understood）。所以我认为B要错也不应该是错在比较这个点上

但C的比较和同位语结构确实很清晰，所以困扰中。。。

之前有人提出compares在此题中不能用主动，我觉得也是有一定道理的。。。

compares在此题中不能用主动，是因为用主动后的意思变了，MM可以查一下字典。

sth compare to/with sth的意思是to be similar to sth else, either better or worse与……类似（或相似）。

This school compares with the best in the country.=it is as good as them.

这层比较和原文中的对比含义已经不同了。

另外，对于B中a ratio是同位语，这一点MM的坚持没问题，偶也认为这是同位语，但是ratio的意思是什么呢？

the ratio of sth is the relationship between two things when it is expressed in numbers or amounts.

在这里ratio是 ** times their/the pay，偶认为省略掉their pay就产生了歧义，使比较对象不对等。

在并列句中省略没有问题，但在比较句中，能否省略要看是否合理，就像很多人讨论的“助动词能否省略”的问题一样道理。

compare的用法没有问题

第一次听到这么分析ratio这个词的用法，有种柳暗花明的感觉，开阔了另外一条思路

咦，原来这么深奥啊!as compared to不是固定短语，表示"与...相比"的么？俺当时就一根筋选了C.

同意compare导致B的问题，但是，C中的their不会指代歧义吗？CEO's和workers，因为GMAC曾经很多次都是用这招排除选项，即使这个选项的代词只要用就近指代来理解就对了（这题也是就近）……

突然发现这招到了Prep就不灵了，我上来就是用代词排除了C

代词和时态都是the last straw in the sea

不要轻易靠这两个排除选项

比较、比较、再比较，只有比较选项区别才能判断指代和时态是否合理
