答案是E，可是我觉得that have appeared on earth不对，没有明确表示用现在完成时，appeared就是表示过去存在这一简单事实。而且the也有待商榷。

B在时态上我觉得对。

E有一个比B优的地方，就是把 of the five ....前置,这样句子就不至于头重脚轻。

但，时态的重要性优于头重脚轻吧！！！

我认为E的现在完成时态反而是合适的  "the five hundred million different species of living creatures" appear的状态应该是保持到了现在

B中 five hundred million different species 前缺少定冠词，给人感觉地球上除了这五百百万的物种外还有其他的物种
