我估计我现在是做题做到晕了。。此题很费解。

Emily Dickinson's letter to Susan Huntington Dickinson were written over a period beginning a few years before Susan's marriage to Emily's brother and ending shortly before Emily's death in 1886, outnumbering her letters to anyone else.

答案是：Dickinson, which were written over a period begining a few years before Susan's marriage to Emily's brother and ending shortly before Emily's death in 1886, outnumber

有几个点，我知道begining 和ending 是对应的，主语是letter, 谓语动词是outnumber, 是吧？

但是which不是只能修饰逗号前面的那个名词么在GMAT里，为什么这题的非限定性定从就能用了。还是说在其他选项都在其他地方有问题的时候，非限定性定从就可以跳过一个词修饰？或者修饰整个句子？

这题还有那个outnumbering的问题，如果作为这个结构，v-ing modifies the whole preceding clause，而不是作为noun modifier，那么就说前面句子作为一个整体，是outnumbering的主语
但是从逻辑上说，outnumber的主语应该是letter，即前面的主语，而非整体
