spouses 为什么要改成husband and wife我也不清楚，但这题不需这个判别就可以选出啊

１it从句优于Ｅ，因此不用看全选项就可排除Ｅ

２common比frequent适合，排除AB。

３Ｃ用虚拟语气（不知算不算）should be多余，因此剩Ｄ

为什么it从句就要优于E呢?

这里面的it应该是形式主语, 真正的主语是both husband and wife to work outside the home,不知道理解的对不对?

另外这个for是什么作用呢?可否换成that?

1. 为什么用spouses代替H & W? 因为spouses指很多对夫妻，导致both无所指。

2. it be adj. for x to do y，是常用的句式，据我观察也是GMAT之爱。没错，it是形式主语。

3. that从句的话，可以这样写：it becomes more common that both husband and wife work outside the home.

4. E的问题很多，wordy，which从句里的working，which应用who等等，而且couples become more common也扭曲原句意思。原句是说夫妻都工作的现象more common，和都工作的夫妻more common意思稍有不同，请体会一下。

有一点不大同意四楼的意见。

spouses 我理解是指很多的丈夫或者很多的妻子。也就是说 spouse 仅指夫妻中的任意一个人。四楼的结论我同意，的确导致both无所指。

B 不好的原因我觉得还有一条： couple 指一对夫妻整体的概念，而句子的表达着重于说 “夫妻双方” 都要工作。husband and wife 正好能将这个意思最直接的表达出来。B选项似乎是说两对夫妻（四个人）both working outside.

我不确定的是B的句型是否可以接收 it ... to have couples...

为什么楼上的和OG都说B选项是指四个人呢？（both couples)，但我看到的却是couples both,所以，我认为还是两个人啊？ 麻烦帮忙解答！
