有几个作文不是很理解题目的意思，请帮忙解释一下

前天开始作文复习，第一轮是全部把作文题目看一遍，先把所有作文题目弄懂了，不至于在考试的时候看到作文题目后还要花时间是琢磨。有几道题目我还不是很掌握题目的意思，请哪位帮帮忙点拨一下。

1. Of all the manifestations of power, restraint in the  use of that power impresses people most.

    manifestations: apparent signs or indicators

权力的各种表现中，对权力使用的克制是最感动人的

2. Courtesy is rapidly disappearing from everyday interactions, and as a result, we are all the poorer for it.   

我们现在都不擅长（谦恭礼貌） 

3. "Ask most older people to identify the key to success, and they are likely to reply 'hard work.' Yet, I would tell people starting off in a career that work in itself is not the key. In fact, you have to approach work cautiously－too much or too little can be self-defeating."

是指前面的hard work。然而，我会告诉那些职场新人，光埋头工作不是最主要的。你必须小心对待工作---做的太多或者太少都是有害的
