哪个phrase？？？
是so that 变成了 so as to的不对？
（ps：小菜知道resulting的那里改变了原意，所以错，所以这个“resulting”问题先不考虑）

我的理解是1，ability to do在E中被改成了ability for doing。2，so as to 的语义与so that稍有不同。so that表示结果，so as to有表示目的。

亲，你的第二个说法，关于“结果&目的”，我有点启发，但我觉得这两个的区别虽然有，但应该不算是一个split的点~~

我觉得wordy说的是result in being unable另外关于so as to的用法，太多地方都有提到，它的前面需要是单一主谓，否则容易引起歧义
经典例子OG12 39. In 1527 King Henry VIII sought to have his marriage to
Queen Catherine annulled so as to marry Anne Boleyn.
(A) so as to marry
(B) and so could be married to
(C) to be married to
(D) so that he could marry
(E) in order that he would marry
OG说A有 King Henry VIII与 Queen Catherine，所以是谁要marry Anne Boleyn就有歧义了。

其实我本身挺讨厌见到so...as to或so as to的，就是因为自己没有弄清楚它们。我们先来弄清这两个东西吧。

so as to：这是PP笔记上的一句话：so as to 可以表示目的也可以表示结果，用于单一主谓结构中，逻辑主语等于句子主语，即句子主语可以执行as to后动词的动作。
so... as to：so … as to be/do一般用于单一主语，但是不能相隔太远，否则可以视为错误。其原理为：so … as to事实上是三个结构的结合，so引出的是状语，as指代句子前面的核心含义，to是不定式引导状语结构(adverbial structure)，此不定式修饰的正是前面的核心动词以及该动词的逻辑主语，所以只有当前面只有一个核心动词而且很明确的时候才能够用so…as to，也正因为修饰成分离被修饰词过远会造成修饰不清，所以to be/do结构不能与前面动词不能太远。

我们再来看看E选项：
the conversational pace of everyday life may be so brisk as to hamper the ability ...（ablility for doing的错误我们就先忽略）
这样看来，根据上面的陈述，我倒认为E中的so... as to没有错误。so引导出结果状语，as指代句子前面的核心含义---pace be brisk，to引导了结果状语结构。
